Determination of the Effect of Salt Stress on Germination, Biochemical and Antioxidant Defense Systems in Linas Safflower Seeds

In this study, the germination and early seedling growth, biochemical antioxidant enzyme activities (CAT, SOD, POD, APX) of one-year, broad-leaved Linas safflower belonging to Compositeae family were investigated at different salt concentrations (0, 50, 100, 150 200 mM). With increasing concentration, a 68.83% decrease in length, 71% stem 34% rate, 77% fresh plant weight determined. addition, total phenolic content (267%), flavonoid (904%), CAT (462%), SOD (56%), POD (100%), APX (381%) increased parallel with concentration. it was determined that as stress increased, water-soluble protein decreased by 48%. seeds relatively resistant 150, mM NaCl concentrations, continued. As result, has been understood once again our country feeling negative impact lately, determination alternative plants for growing oily gained more importance these days. Safflower, which is one plants, strategically important species both terms its oil being source biodiesel. This study carried out context will be resource farmers regarding future studies on can used cultivation.
